Rise and shine!

This is really an event you don't want to miss out on. I was lucky enough to attend the Sunrise performance last year at the IMPAC film festival and I was blown away.

Here's a brief run-down of what to expect.

Sunrise - Outdoor Film and Sound Experience
Featuring Jacob Israel and Skyline on Fire

What do you get when you combine a classic silent black-and-white film from the 1920’s and the electronic sounds from our digital age? A mesmerizing eclectic experience where live music and sound brings a vintage film back to life.

The Open Window School of Visual Communication, who is synonymous with originality and innovation, will once again be the talking point with this production to be screened on Friday evening 2 November at their campus in Irene, Pretoria.

We invite all culture addicts and lovers of music, movies and life to join us for the screening of the silent film “Sunrise”, accompanied by a live original soundtrack in quadrophonic sound created and performed by Jacob Israel and A Skyline on Fire. F.W Murnau directed “Sunrise” and stars silent film actors George O’Brian and Janet Gaynor.

The film will be screened in the square on campus under the night sky. Bring your picnic blankets and camping chairs for a memorable event under the stars.

Tickets: R20, available at the entrance
